Types of Data Collected
Cookies: We use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting the website.
Comments: When leaving a comment on this blog, you will be required to enter some basic personal information, such as your name, email address and blog URL. This data is only used to keep you updated with any comment threads you have expressed interest in. This data is not used to contact you outwith the blog, and is not passed on to any third parties. This data is hosted within our WordPress blog.
Brand Partnerships: In order to match you up with appropriate brands who may be interested in partnering with you on sponsored blog content or event invitations, we do store some personal data on our members. This data is collected through our Mailchimp mailing list (see above) and includes your name, email address, blog URL and nearest city. In the event of a brand partnership, we will seek your consent before passing on any personal details to a third party.
ScotBlogCo is a secure website and any data collected through the website is kept confidential. Data is only processed by myself (Gillian McDonald, the data controller) and any ScotBlogCo admins (Briony Cullin). Data is kept secure through password protection.
In the unlikely case of a data breach, all users will be contacted within 72 hours and every effort will be made to secure or delete data as soon as possible.
